Aug 1, 2025 | 1:22 PM

Coldstream is getting some outside funding to support its Emergency Plan.

The District is updating the plan to ensure programs are in place for responding to both small and large scale emergencies, and has received a $40,000 grant to help with this work.

The funding will primarily be used to enhance and built the community’s emergency response and communications system, as well as the evacuation plan. The district said this is intended to ensure protocols and systems are in place to support communication and evacuation during emergencies.

The money is coming through the Union of B.C. Municipalities (UBCM) Community Emergency Preparedness Fund after the district was successful in its application for financial support.
