Coldstream to adopt the regional Accessibility Plan

Jul 30, 2025 | 10:02 AM

The District of Coldstream will be making efforts to ensure the community is more accessible and inclusive.

Coldstream Council endorsed the North Okanagan Accessibility Plan at the regular meeting Monday, July 28.

The plan focuses on six key priorities:

  • Accessible built environment and outdoor recreation
  • Safe and use-friendly transportation networks
  • Inclusive programs and services
  • Accessible communication and access to information
  • Collaboration and leadership to remove barriers
  • Educated and aware civil servants and community members

Once the plan is adopted, the District of Coldstream will be in charge of implementing changes in the community to meet the key points of the plan. However, the district will be able to access assistance in this work from the Inter-municipal Accessibility Advisory Committee, which was instrumental in the development of this plan.
