Raffle launched to support Cops for Kids fundraiser
A fundraiser has been launched in the name of the initiative that supports children in crisis in the Southern Interior.
Cops for Kids is running an online 50/50 raffle, with half of the jackpot going to the draw winner and the other going to support the program that sees police officers take part in a multi-day bicycle ride to raise money for children and families facing medical, physical or traumatic crises. Through the program, families can access some financial support for treatment, medical equipment, specialized therapies, or other supports.
People who purchase a ticket can do so in the name of one of the riders, which will go towards their individual goals of raising $2,5000. Among the 2 riders participating are Vernon’s Nick Reimann; Lake Country’s Marc Gruber and Gail Harrison; and Kelowna’s Tyler Hug, Julio Krenz, and Ken Georgeson.
The Cops for Kids ride will go September 5-14 and see riders start in Osoyoos, head east to Cranbrook, north to Golden, east to Kamloops, and then through Vernon and Kelowna before retuning to Osoyoos to finish the trip.
