A fundraiser in support of end of life care launched Monday.

The North Okanagan Hospice Society (NOHS) opened sales for its Dancing with the Vernon Stars.

The event, held at the Prestige Vernon Lodge and Conference Centre on October 18, will see local personalities performing both solo and group dances.

In addition to selling tickets for the event, NOHS has launched a 50/50 raffle to contribute to its services.

Both the 50/50 and the Dancing with the Vernon Stars ticket sales will go to support NOHS programs, such as Hospice at Home, Hospice House, and grief supports

“This event is about community, compassion, and celebrating local talent—all while supporting hospice care right here at home,” Megan Cox, Executive Director of NOHS, said.

“Every ticket and 50/50 ticket sold means more hands-on care, grief support, and dignity for families facing end-of-life challenges.”

NOHS said the 50/50 jackpot could reach a total of $50,000, with the winner taking home half the pot.

Details about the fundraiser and the Dancing with the Vernon Stars event can be found at the NOHS website.
