Polson Park renewal enters next phase
The City of Vernon has completed Phase 1 of the Polson Park Naturalization Project and launched Phase 2, aimed at restoring Vernon Creek and boosting biodiversity.
A community celebration was held Friday, July 18, with speeches, music, food, and a guided park tour.
Mayor Victor Cumming called the project a symbol of community, culture, and sustainability.
“Polson Park is a vital part of our city, and naturalizing Vernon Creek is about more than restoration. It’s a celebration of community, culture and enhancing the biodiversity of this important ecosystem,” Cumming said in a news release.
