RCMP seek public help in search for missing Kelowna man

Editors note: Bennett has been found.

Mounties in Kelowna are asking for the public’s help locating a missing man last seen Sunday afternoon.

Sixty-nine-year-old Curtis Bennett was last spotted around 4:30 p.m. in the 500-block of Killarney Road. Police say he left his home on foot and was initially thought to be heading toward the IGA on Hollywood Road North, but may have been seen later near the Walmart on Banks Road.

RCMP say Bennett suffers from health issues, and there is growing concern for his well-being.

He is described as a tall, thin Caucasian man with a long beard and mostly bald head. He was last seen wearing black baggy pants, a black long-sleeve button-up shirt with grey pinstripes, a black baseball hat with flames on the rim and brown hiking boots. Police say he may also be wearing a high-visibility vest and carrying a Walmart bag.

“Anyone who knows the whereabouts of Mr. Bennett or has had any contact with him is urged to call the Kelowna Central Okanagan RCMP detachment at 250-762-3300,” police said in a release.
