Christmas in July Food Drive

Local realtors collecting food for people in need

Jul 9, 2025 | 6:00 AM

A food drive organized by local real estate agents is returning.

The North Okanagan Realtor Committee is bringing back it’s Christmas in July Food Drive.

The initiative was held in past years but was halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic and dwindling space at the food bank at the time. With the Salvation Army Food Bank having expanded it’s facility, the food drive is being brought back to address what organizers say are declines in food donations over the summer months and seasonal food insecurity.

People can drop off non-perishable food items at the REMAX Vernon, Coldwell Banker, 3% Realty, and Royal LePage offices to support the initiative between July 14 and 19.

“Every can, every box, and every contribution helps,” the North Okanagan Realtor Committee said in a release.

“Let’s show what the Okanagan spirit is all about — generosity, community, and care.”
