Roundabout construction to close Kane and Valley intersection through fall
A key intersection in Kelowna’s Glenmore area will close to traffic beginning Tuesday, June 24 as crews begin work on a new roundabout.
The Kane Road and Valley Road intersection is expected to remain closed until late October, with a detour route in place via Glenmore Road. A temporary pathway will be available to allow pedestrians and cyclists to safely navigate the construction zone.
The City of Kelowna says the project will improve safety and access for all road users while bringing additional upgrades to the area, including new lighting, bike lanes and enhanced storm water infrastructure.
Construction will take place Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., though work may continue outside those hours, including evenings and weekends, to reduce long-term disruptions for residents. Safety personnel and signage will be in place throughout the project.
