Have your say on two Rutland park projects

Jun 20, 2025 | 6:00 AM

The City of Kelowna is asking Rutland residents to share their ideas for two park projects.

Feedback is needed on the new Aurora Park and upgrades to Rutland Lions Park.

Public feedback is open from Friday June 20 until July 13.

Suggestions for features like pathways, playgrounds, dog runs, and gardens are being considered.

Aurora Park: A new neighbourhood park that will be located on an undeveloped parcel of land between Aurora Crescent and Froelich Road. Possible amenities include connective pathways, hillside playground, community garden and dog run.

Rutland Lions Park: An existing community-level park in the heart of Rutland at 175 Gray Rd. Improvements to the park are being planned in conjunction with the development of the new Activity Centre adjacent to Rutland Lions Park, part of the Building Stronger Kelowna initiative. Possible improvements may include accessible and illuminated perimeter pathways, playground enhancements, dog run and disc golf.

Residents can visit getinvolved.kelowna.ca/parks to learn more and complete a survey (for one or both of the parks). The public is also invited to learn more about the project, share input, and connect with the project team at this weekend’s Rutland Residents Celebration.

That happens at Rutland Centennial Park, 250 Rutland Rd N , Sunday, June 22, Noon to 4 p.m.
