Mass timber used in YLW expansion
Jun 17, 2025 | 3:17 PM
Travellers will soon see a big update at Kelowna International Airport.
The terminal expansion has finished installing its wooden roof structure, made from locally sourced mass timber from B.C.’s Slocan Valley.
With $500 thousand dollars in funding from the province, the wood panels were pre-made in Castlegar using advanced technology to speed up the build.
The project is set to be completed by 2026.
