An annual hike in support of end-of-life care will take place this weekend.

The North Okanagan Hospice Society (NOHS) will host its Hike for Hospice at Kalamalka Lake Provincial Park Saturday, May 10.

The event will begin with registration and refreshments at 9 a.m. at Juniper Bay, with the hike going from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The theme for the annual hike is “Superheroes of the Heart,” celebrating people who support compassionate end-of-life care. Hikers were encouraged to wear their favourite superhero outfit during the outing.

The event is a key fundraiser for the organization with proceeds supporting programs such as Hospice House Care, Hospice at Home services, and grief and bereavement support.

“Every step taken during the Hike for Hospice makes a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve,” Megan Cox, Executive Director of NOHS, said.

“We are grateful for the community’s continued support and look forward to walking together in compassion and remembrance.”
