Cost to rent one-bed unit down but Kelowna still not cheap

While rental prices in Kelowna are going down, it is still the seventh most expensive in Canada.

According to Zumper, a digital marketplace for renters and property managers, which tracks online listings across the country, the median one-bedroom rental in Kelowna in April is $1,850 a month.

A two-bedroom will cost $2,250.

The cost to rent a one-bedroom apartment in Kelowna has gone down 4.7 per cent in the last year.

The Zumper website showed the average monthly rent in Kelowna overall is up 1.15 per cent compared to last month but down 8.62 per cent year-over-year.

A scan of the listings showed rentals for studios to three-bedroom units varied from around $1,575 to $2,800.

Vancouver remains the priciest city for a one-bedroom rental at a median $2,500 per month.
