The owner of the land that includes the Kelowna Springs golf course on Penno Road in the Reid’s Crossing area, has unveiled a website illustrating their plans for the large business park they aim to build there.

The proposed plans, to be submitted for approval to Kelowna City Council soon, also call for extensive outdoor and indoor recreational space including a pickleball centre.

The website is: 480Penno.ca. There will be a public info session next week during which they will reveal their vision.

Denciti Development Corp. aims to build a 35-acre business park they said would add up to 700 jobs and help address the acute shortage of industrial land in the city. This park would offer space for various industries including light manufacturing and warehousing.

The plan also outlines a year-round 12-court indoor pickleball layout.

A proposed ‘Pickleball Dome’ with 12 indoor courts is part of the plans/Denciti Development Corp.

In addition, the plan shows 10-acres of open space for walking and biking. The Kelowna Springs golf course, which was reduced to nine holes to make way for the development, will remain.

In a media release, Garry Fawley, CEO of Denciti Development Corp. said his company had listened to the community and are proud to present a vision that reflects a range of priorities.

“We’ve worked hard to create a win-win solution where recreation thrives while also generating high-paying jobs for residents. By optimizing land use for both recreation and employment, the proposed plan strikes a balance that strengthens Kelowna’s economic resilience and creates a place where residents can work, play, and grow,” he said.

A public info session will be held next Wednesday at Springvalley Middle School at 350 Ziprick Rd from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
