Mounties raid residence in downtown Kelowna

Police closed off a major road for about half an hour as they searched a property in downtown Kelowna Thursday.
Kelowna RCMP confirmed with Vernon Matters that local offices along with members of the Southeast District Emergency Response Team executed a search warrant a residence in the 700 block of Harvey Ave. at around noon Thursday, March 20.
Police closed Harvey Ave. and was redirecting traffic via Richter St. and Ethel Ave. until about 12:35 p.m., when police reopened the highway in both directions, with the exception of one eastbound lane, though that was anticipated to also reopen shortly.
No further details about what police were searching for was disclosed and police said the investigation remained active.
