RCMP in ‘relentless pursuit of property crime’

Local RCMP are highlighting the efforts of their Proactive Enforcement Unit (PEU) in dealing with local property crime.

Stolen motorbikes and firearms were among items found at various addresses in recent weeks – on Horizon Drive and a storage locker in West Kelowna, and on Clifton Road in Kelowna.

Police said one of two people arrested is connected to violent offences in Kelowna.

In a media release, Cpl. Guillaume Tanguay with the PEU, said the respective seizures demonstrate “…our relentless pursuit of property crime offenders. These crimes plague the community, causing thousands of dollars of loss each year”.

A 44-year-old man was arrested at a residence in the 2000-block of Horizon Drive in West Kelowna. The search warrant stems from multiple business break and enters in Kelowna and West Kelowna. Police recovered stolen property from several of those business break-ins.

In the search of a storage locker in West Kelowna officers located and seized two stolen motorcycles from thefts dated as far back as 2020 and 2024.

And a 36-year-old man was located on the 600-block of Clifton Road and taken into custody on outstanding warrants related to violent offences in Kelowna. Officers located and seized three firearms. Police had previously observed criminal activity at the home.
