UPDATE Feb. 20

Greater Vernon Water rescinded the Precautionary Boil Water Notice for the Pottery Road area Thursday, Feb. 20.

GVW stated sample testing showed the bacterial levels in the system were within the safe drinking water standard.

Greater Vernon Water is advising people in the Pottery Rd. and 15th St. area to boil their water before consumption.

A Precautionary Boil Water Notice was issued Friday, Feb. 14, due to a water main break that caused a loss of pressure and increased turbidity in the area.

The notice will remain in effect until sample testing shows the water is again within drinking quality standards.

In the meantime, people in the affected area are advised to bring water to a roiling boil for a full minute before drinking; making food or drink including ice and baby formula; and brushing teeth.
