Precautionary boil water notice issued for Middleton area

Greater Vernon Water issued a Precautionary Boil Water notice for an area in Coldstream Wednesday afternoon.

The notice was issued for customers in the Middleton Drive and Venables Drive area around 3:30 p.m. Jan. 29.

The notice was issued after a water main break resulted in a loss of water pressure and increased turbidity in the water.

People in the affected areas were advised to run the cold taps until water turns clear, and recommended people bring tap water to a roiling boil for a full minute before drinking; using to make food or drink, including ice and baby formula; and brushing teeth.
