The highway connecting the Southern Interior to the Lower Mainland is due to get some more snow.

Environment Canada issued a Snowfall Warning for the Coquihalla Highway between Merritt and Hope Friday, Nov. 22.

The weather agency said about 15 centimetres of snow was expected to fall on Highway 5 Friday, as as a system pushes precipitation through the region.

Environment Canada added the storm could produce strong winds, which may blow snow around and reduce visibility.

The snow may accumulate quickly and cause road conditions to change, and people travelling on the highway were reminded to drive to conditions, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop, have proper winter tires equipped, ensure vehicles are in good working order, and check road conditions at DriveBC before getting behind the wheel.
