Vernon Vipers holding Toques and Mittens Toss night Sunday

The local BCHL team will be collecting winter weather gear during one of their games this weekend.

The Vernon Vipers will hold a Toques and Mittens Toss winter clothing drive during their game against the Salmon Arm Silverbacks on Sunday, Nov. 30.

When the Vipers score their first goal of the night, people will be able to toss their items, such as toques, mitts, scarves, gloves, and winter socks, onto the ice.

The items thrown onto the ice will be collected and then donated to the Upper Mission Room, which will provide them to people in need.

People can purchase tickets to the Vipers game online or at the box office.

Along with hosting the Silverbacks during the Toques and Mitts toss night, the Vipers will visit the Vees in Penticton on Saturday, Nov. 23.

Both games will be broadcast on Beach 107.5.
