A massive drug bust has been carried out in Falkland.

RCMP say the “largest and most sophisticated fentanyl and methamphetamine drug superlab in Canada” was identified in the community and raided as part of the RCMP Federal Policing program to combat domestic production and international export of fentanyl and methamphetamine.

Police raided the drug super lab in Falkland, as well as associated locations in Surrey, Friday, Oct. 25. This operation was believed to be linked to international organized crime

The raids led to the seizure of 54 kilograms of fentanyl, large quantities of precursor chemicals, 360 kilograms of methamphetamine, 35 kilograms of cocaine, 15 kilograms of MDMA (ecstasy), and six kilograms of cannabis.

Additionally, the operation led to the seizure of a total of 89 firearms, including 45 handguns, 21 AR-15-style rifles, and submachine guns. Police noted many of the weapons were leaded and ready to use, and nine of them were identified as stolen.

The searches also led to the discovery of several small explosive devices, large amounts of ammunition, firearm silencers, high-capacity magazines, body armour, and $500,000 in cash.

The operation also included coordinating with Canada Border Services Agency, which was able to intercept and seize 310 kilograms of methamphetamine as it was set to leave Canada.

Gaganpreet Randhawa was identified as the main suspect and arrested. He remained in custody and faced numerous drug- and firearm-related charges.

“As part of our crackdown on the large-scale production, distribution, and international export of illicit drugs, our dedicated RCMP Federal Policing investigators have successfully neutralized what is believed to be the largest illicit fentanyl, and methamphetamine facility ever discovered by law enforcement in Canada,” Inspector Jillian Wellard, Officer in Charge of Federal Policing Pacific Region, Drugs and Organized Crime, said.

“This is undoubtedly a major blow to the transnational organized crime groups involved, and a great step towards ensuring the safety of Canadians, and the international community.”

Mounties were also able to link the operation to a recent investigation that led to the seizure of 30 tones of precursor chemicals from a rural property in Enderby.

The investigation into the drug superlab and organized crime operation remained ongoing.
