Man facing charge in Lumby murder due back in court

A man charged in the murder of his ex-wife in Lumby will be appearing in court at the end of the month.

The B.C. Prosecution Service confirmed that Vitali Stefanski was to appear in Vernon Law Courts Wednesday, Oct. 20, to elect a mode of trial. Stefanski can choose to be tried by provincial judge alone, by a superior court judge alone with or without a preliminary inquiry, or by judge and jury with or without a preliminary inquiry.

Dates for the trial had not been set.

Steafanski is charged with second-degree murder in the death of his ex-wife, Tatjana Stefanski.
