Greater Vernon Chamber to host all-candidates forum Saturday

Oct 4, 2024 | 1:47 PM

The candidates for the Vernon-Lumby riding will be participating in an all-candidates forum on Saturday.

The Greater Vernon Chamber is putting on the event at the Vernon and District Performing Arts Centre which will see NDP Hawinder Sandhu, Conservative Dennis Giesbrecht, unaffiliated candidate Kevin Acton, and Libertarian Robert Johnson answer a range of questions and discuss how they could serve the community.

The forum will be moderated by Dan Proulx, General Manager of the Greater Vernon Chamber (GVC), and will ask questions submitted by members of the GVC and from the public.

“It is important voters have the opportunity to hear from all the candidates, before making a decision and the GVC is pleased to facilitate the democratic process,” GVC President, Kirndeep Nahal, said.

The forum will go from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5. Doors will open at 1 p.m. and people with questions can submit them before the event begins, as only written questions will be asked. The event will be free to attend.

It will also be live streamed on the Greater Vernon Chamber’s Facebook page for people who cannot attend to tune in and hear the answers and discussions.
