All five aggressors in youth assault arrested, police continue to ask people to stop sharing video

Police have tracked down all five youth involved in the violent assault Friday evening.

Kelowna RCMP said the remaining two perpetrators involved in the attack of a female youth at Gyro Beach on Sept. 27 had been arrested as of Thursday, Oct. 3. The other three were arrested Wednesday.

All five had since been released under very strict conditions, with the RCMP saying they would be monitored to ensure they comply with conditions and attend any future court dates.

The attack was captured on video and, despite police asking the public to not share it any further, it continued to circulate online.

“The victim, along with police, are asking anyone who has video of the incident to please stop circulating and playing the video,” Sgt. Laura Pollock of the Kelowna RCMP said.

“We are asking everyone to abide by the victim’s wishes as the recirculation of the video is traumatic to all involved.”

Police stated no further information on the case would be released as it involved youth victims and aggressors.
