Archeological permit issued for work on Husband Road

The rehabilitation project on Coldstream’s Husband Road can go ahead once again.

The District of Coldstream said it had received an Archeological Site Alteration Permit needed to resume the work that has seen the road closed since late-May.

A contractor had been hired and was scheduled to resume work on the site as early as Tuesday, Sept. 10.

Husband Road will remain closed to traffic during the work, but the District said it may reopen to a single, alternating lane by Sept. 16.

Until the road is ready to reopen, the District of Coldstream asked that people accessing the Kal Beach parking lot continue to take Middleton Way to Husband Road and then into the lot.
