Aug 30, 2024 | 2:48 PM

A late-night, suspicious fire destroyed a home in Kelowna.

Kelowna Fire Department said crews responded to a report of dark grey smoke coming from a home in the 800 Block of Harman Rd. just before midnight on the night of Thursday, Aug. 29.

Crews arrived on the scene where they found flames coming from a single family residence, and the situation was upgraded to a third alarm fire.

As there were no hydrants nearby, crews used water tenders to tackle the fire and protect a nearby residence, which suffered minor damage.

However, the subject home was fully destroyed, and several vehicles and other outbuildings on the property suffered damage ranging from minor to severe.

The fire was deemed suspicious and the cause was under investigation.

Kelowna Fire Department did not report any injuries as a result of the blaze.
