Accused in Lumby murder due back in court next month

A man accused of killing his ex-wife will be appearing in the Vernon Courthouse for administrative purposes next month.

Vitali Stefanski has been charged with second degree murder of Tatjana Stefanski.

Tatjana was allegedly abducted from her home in Lumby on April 12, 2024, and her body was found in a rural area the following.

Vitali was arrested after being located in a nearby area that day.

The accused appeared in court Thursday, August 29, to meet with his counsel and receive disclosure.

The B.C. Prosecution Service said Vitali Stefanski will be back in court on September 12 to receive further disclosure of the Crown’s case.

Trial dates have not been set, and a plea has not been entered.
