Final phase of 32nd Ave. reconstruction to go through September

The City of Vernon said another month of work is needed to complete the 32nd Avenue reconstruction project.

Crews will begin the final phase of the project as early as Tuesday, Sept. 3, which will involve replacing aging infrastructure such as the water main, storm sewer, and sanitary sewer lines, and paving the road and sidewalk between 18th and 15th streets.

The intersection of 32nd Ave. and 15th St. will be closed to all traffic during the course of the work, which was estimated to take the entire month of September.

Detour routes would be established along 30th and 35th Avenues.
