People are providing some financial support to three Vernon teenagers who lost their mother to cancer.

A GoFundMe was launched in Chandra Rothgordt’s name, who passed away after a lengthy battle with cancer. She left behind three children, Kai (19), Malaiya (17) and Shael (16).

The campaign, organized by Suze Doucette, stated that Chandra was a devoted mother and that her passing “has left a void that words cannot express.”

She added the three teenagers are grappling with the loss, and are also facing “the daunting financial burden of funeral expenses and the cost of everyday living.”

The intent of the GoFundMe was to raise money for Chandra’s funeral service and to support the three teenagers with living expenses so they can maintain a stable home environment. The fundraiser will also help the teenagers with their post-secondary education.

As of Friday morning, the GoFundMe had raised $4,170 to support the family.
