VSAR’s new vehicle ready to serve in emergencies

Vernon Search and Rescue has a new vehicle stationed at the hall and ready for use.

In a social media post, VSAR said they have taken possession of the new Initial Response Truck, stating “it contains everything we need to quickly respond to a task and get started on helping our subjects.”

The new Ford F450, which the group has been working at acquiring for the past several years, has a heated patient bay, emergency and scene lighting, large compartments for gear, rope rescue anchors, a winch, and new off-road tires.

“It will support our team in all seasons and all weather for many years to come,” VSAR’s post stated.

The new vehicle replaces a 2006 Ford F350. VSAR stated it would be selling the vehicle in May, with the hope of it going to another search and rescue group. As of yet, there has been no update on the sale of the older vehicle.
