Four family members die in highway crash

Police are calling it a terrible tragedy.

Four people died in a crash on Highway 3 in Keremeos involving two cars and a tractor trailer on Wednesday morning (July 10).

Police say four adults of an extended family, all from the same vehicle, were found dead on scene near Becks Road around 11:30 a.m.

The occupants of the other vehicles were uninjured.

The cause is under investigation.

“This is a terrible tragedy. Our condolences go out to the family and friends of the deceased,” RCMP spokesperson Sgt. Jason Bayda said. “Our thoughts are also with the first responders and members of the public impacted by this incident.”

Highway 3 was closed for about 8 hours with a detour provided while first responders were on scene.
