One week detour required for part of 30th Avenue

A temporary detour will be in place this week on part of 30th Avenue in Vernon.

Crews will be working on the final phase of a road repaving project.

Starting on Monday, July 8, 30th Avenue between 38th and 41st Streets will be closed to through traffic.

A detour will be in place via 27th Avenue (see map below).

The work is expected to take up to one week to complete, dependent of the weather.

Local and business traffic will still be able to access residences in the area, however, there will be no on-street parking available.

Some delays should be expected for motorists in the area but the city says every effort will be made to minimize disruptions.

“For the safety of workers and public, please obey traffic control signage and slow-down in the area,” a city news release stated.
