Jury trial date set for sexual assault, assault trial

A man accused of sexual assault, assault and making threats will face a jury of his peers in July.
Sevin Zakuti, charged with one count each of sexual assault and assault, as well as four counts of uttering threats, will be tried by jury on July 15, 2024.
The trial date was set by a judge at Vernon Supreme Court Friday, June 28.
The B.C. Prosecution Service told Vernon Matters the alleged sexual assaults and threats were made during the dates of July 20 and 21, 2023. The alleged assault took place between July 19 and 21, 2023.
