Vernon bike park getting close to opening

Work is moving along at the site of Vernon’s new bike facility.
A City of Vernon staff update on Phase 2 of the Becker Bike Park said the paving of the pump-track has been completed and construction of the dirt jumps was progressing.
The construction cost is being finalized and plans are in place to plant trees in appropriate areas. It was noted the number and size of the trees will depend on the available budget.
The park, just west of the Vernon Recreation Complex, remains closed to the public until construction has been completed, with the tentative re-opening planned for sometime in July.
