Wildfire reduction work planned for Silver Star Road

Crews will be working along Silver Star Road this week to reduce the risk of wildfires spreading in the area.

The Regional District of North Okanagan said dead brush and trees will be trimmed, chipped and piled along a nearly 5 kilometre stretch of the road from Green Way/Forsberg Rd. to just past the switchback before Sovereign Lake Rd.

Crews may also be doing controlled burns of the cleared debris.
