The Vernon Public Art gallery’s big fundraiser of the summer has a new site this year.

The Midsummer’s Eve of the Arts will be held at Paddlewheel Hall on Okanagan Landing Road on Wednesday, July 17 from 6:30 to 11:30 p.m.

It will be the 38th annual art auction.

“The event will feature a collection of curated artwork generously donated by local artists and all proceeds will support the VPAG’s purpose of connecting our community to the creative presence and possibilities within the visual arts through its exhibitions and activities,” a news release from VPAG stated.

Last year’s event was held at Mackie Lake House in Coldstream.

As Vernon’s longest-running art auction, the fundraiser is a staple event in the Greater Vernon community, providing an opportunity for art enthusiasts and philanthropists to support a great cause.

Every year, the VPAG brings the art-loving community together with the art auction gala, attracting 200+ guests.

Tickets will be on sale beginning with early-bird pricing as of June 1, Early-bird pricing is only available until June 16, so act fast to get yours at a discounted rate.

Ticket prices range from $75 – $125 for individual seats, and prices will increase on June 17, 2024. View all of the details and get your tickets here.

“It’s that time of year again! That special time when artists, volunteers, businesses and supporters all come together for a magical evening supporting the arts in Greater Vernon,” Dauna Kennedy, executive director of VPAG, said.

‘Creative and critical thinking skills are even more in our current society of social media and AI content. Now more than ever the need to critically analyze what we see is crucial to our development and understanding of the world around us. We couldn’t do this important work without the support we receive each year through Midsummer’s Eve of the Arts,” Kennedy said.
