Phase 2 of Vernon bike park on track for summer opening

The newest recreational facility in Vernon is pedalling towards completion in the next two months.

Phase 2 of the Becker Bike Park is seeing the addition of a dirt jump zone, paved pump track, and a skilled drop zone.

City staff say the contractor, Contour Trails, along with the city and North Okanagan Cycling Society (NOCS), recently hosted a volunteer trail day to involve local youth in the project.

The work started in March and is on schedule to open in July ahead of the BC Day long weekend.

The project is expected to cost $962,000, of which $500,000 will be covered by the B.C. Destination Development Fund.
