Two Clarence Fulton Secondary students made a presentation to Vernon council Monday (May 13), speaking in support of expanding free transit for teens in every transit system in B.C.

Jade Ha and Haylee Andal were asking council to write a letter of support for the program to the province, and they will also ask the city “to make buses in Vernon more frequent, run later, be more on time, and reach more areas of the community.”

The students also provided the results of a survey of about 285 Vernon students, parents and teachers, regarding their opinions of local transit in Vernon.

Ha and Andal also met with Vernon-Monashee MLA Harwinder Sandhu last week, and will be presenting to the School District 22 Board of Education meeting on Wednesday, May 15.
