Grant funding to ensure Vernon is prepared for emergencies

The City of Vernon will be better prepared for emergencies and disasters thanks to financial aid from a provincial organization.

At its regular meeting Monday, April 22, city council heard that the Union of B.C. Municipalities (UBCM) approved a $30,000 grant for the Vernon Emergency Support Services Preparedness project.

Details of the project were not disclosed.

Council received the report outlining the funding approval and authorized staff to use the grant for the project.
