Work Begins April 8

Major road reconstruction planned in Vernon

Mar 30, 2024 | 2:00 PM

A Vernon road in the Alexis Park area will be closed for a major reconstruction project.

Starting Monday, April 1, temporary detours will be in place for portions of 32nd Avenue and 38th Street, while crews set up.

The work involves replacing aging infrastructure including the water main, storm sewer, sanitary sewer utility lines, and repaving the road and sidewalks.

Starting as early as 7:30 a.m. Monday, April 8, 32nd Ave. between 37th St. and 30th Ave. will be closed to through traffic. A portion of 38th St. from 32nd to 30 Ave. will also be closed.

Local and business traffic will still be accommodated, though there will be times when on-street parking won’t be available.

Motorists are reminded to follow all detour routes, obey all traffic control signage, and be cautious of workers.
