Vernon, Kelowna break 110-year-old weather records

The weather over the weekend led to Vernon breaking two more than 100-year-old temperature records.

Environment Canada said the mercury reached 19.3 degrees Celsius on Sunday (March 17), eclipsing the old record of 18.3 set in 1914.

Vernon was one of 38 B.C. communities that set temperature records on Sunday.

Kelowna was another, reaching 18.9 degrees to smash the city’s old mark of 16.1, also set in 1914.
