Vernon Job Fair registration opens to businesses and training organizations

Feb 23, 2024 | 10:51 AM

The seventh annual Vernon Job Fair will have a bit of a twist to it this year with even more career path options.

The event, organized by NexusBC Community Resource Centre in partnership with WorkBC Vernon, will allow businesses to set up booths and speak with potential employees about career opportunities.

New this year, the job fair will also have space for local training organizations, colleges and professional associations to set up stalls.

NexusBC said the Vernon Job Fair is the area’s largest hiring event, noting the 2023 job fair had over 40 employers set up with more than 550 people coming through the doors looking for work and speaking with representatives from a wide range of industries.

The Vernon Job Fair will run on April 25, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Prestige Vernon Lodge.

Job seekers can attend the event for free, but businesses and organizations wishing to set up booths must register and pay a $199 fee.

NexusBC noted only businesses that are actively recruiting may register, and preference will go to local Vernon and area employers.

Employers and organizations wishing to have a booth at the job fair can fill out an application online.

Job seekers who want help writing their resumes or practicing for interviews can contact the WorkBC Centres in Vernon and Enderby.
