The Kelowna Fire Department has promoted from within for the city’s new fire chief.
Dwight Seymour will replace Travis Whiting, who is moving to Whitehorse to be fire chief.
Seymour joined the Kelowna Fire Department in 2021 as assistant chief in charge of training and prevention.
He was promoted to deputy chief of operations in 2022.
Seymour was a deputy fire chief in Vernon from 2019 to 2021.
