Local company drives new deal with golf club

A Vernon-based company has announced what it is calling a ground breaking partnership with a local golf course.

SC Carts, which makes luxury low-speed electric vehicles (LSVs), will work with the Vernon Golf and Country Club during the upcoming golf season, featuring special events, demonstrations and promotional offers.

“This exclusive collaboration marks a significant milestone in the golfing community, as SC Carts’ vehicles will now be permitted on the Vernon Golf and Country Club course, allowing golfers to drive from their home directly onto the course and back,” a news release from SC Carts stated.

The company said the partnership leverages their unique position as the first and only manufacturer approved by Transport Canada to produce street legal LSVs in their category.

“The collaboration means that golfers can now enjoy the unparalleled convenience of driving their personal SC Cart from their home directly onto the golf course, play a round of golf, and return home – all in the same vehicle,” the release said.

“This partnership with Vernon Golf and Country Club is a game-changer,” Jeffery Holomis, CEO, SC Carts, said. “We’re thrilled to offer golfers the luxury and convenience of driving their own street-legal golf cart directly from their home to the golf course. It’s an unprecedented level of freedom and flexibility in the golfing world.”

SC Carts offers three lines of vehicles – NXT, NXT Work, and CITY – all powered by the SC PowerCube lithium battery pack. The partnership will primarily feature the NXT line, which is designed for golfers and resort life.

The vehicles feature a range of 80 km, a charge time of approximately five hours and can be charged using a standard 110v home outlet, with no special charging systems required.

Adam Blair, general manager of the Vernon Golf and Country Club, said they welcome the new option for golfers.

“The board and membership of the club are excited to work with a superior brand like SC Carts and offer our membership the convenience of driving their cart from home, right on to the course for their tee time. This will truly provide our members an experience unparalleled in the Vernon area.“
