Snow show: Okanagan blasted with winter storm

Municipal and regional road crews have been busy Wednesday morning, cleaning up after the heavy snowfall overnight.

Reports from around the North Okanagan suggests snowfall amounts in the range of five to 10 cm by around 10 a.m. Wednesday.

Municipal crews clear the roads based on their priority status, with high-traffic roads the top priority, followed by arterial roads and then residential roadways.

The Kelowna Airport is reporting some cancellations and delays with incoming and outgoing flights.

A snowfall warning remains in effect for the Okanagan, with Environment Canada saying we could get another 10 cm or more before the snow eases tonight.

More snow is expected Friday and Saturday.

The major highways in the Interior were all open as of 10 a.m., with snowfall warnings in effect for the Coquihalla, Connector, the Hope-Princeton Highway and the Trans Canada Highway through the Rogers Pass.
