Extreme cold on way out, snow moving in: special weather statement issued

A special weather statement has been issued for the Okanagan, and other regions advising of snow in the forecast this week.
Environment Canada said Monday an arctic front will begin to sweep across the province from north to south, bringing periods of snow.
“At the same time, a Pacific low pressure system will approach the coast from the west. As the moisture from the Pacific system interacts with the cold front from the North, periods of heavy snow are expected, and snowfall warnings may be issued for some regions,” the weather agency stated.
The good news is the weather will warm up, and Environment Canada has lifted extreme cold warnings for much of the province after several days of record-breaking temperatures.
