Vernon’s building permits break record

It was another record year for building permits in Vernon.

An administrative update for Vernon city council’s January 8th meeting said the 2023 building permits were valued at $223.5-million.

That well surpassed the previous record of $202.4-million in 2022 and $173.5-million in 2021.

The permits included approval for 443 residential units, with the report noting there were 44 per cent less single-family homes approved compared to 2022 figures, but those translated to an increase in multi-family projects.
