Drivers get top marks for tires

Police were stopping vehicles on Silver Star Road Thursday, checking for winter tires, and the results were positive.

The Vernon North Okanagan RCMP and BC Highway Patrol say about 250 vehicles heading up to SilverStar Resort were checked.

“We’re happy to report we had 100 per cent compliance with all vehicles having the properly rated tires,” the RCMP said on Facebook.

Sgt. Roberts of the Highway Patrol was impressed, but noted proper tires are just one part of safe winter driving.
