Coldstream has awarded to contract for its new public works facility to PCL Construction.
An updated construction schedule is expected shortly, with site servicing and demolition starting in February 2024.
“Prior to demolition, the existing buildings will be emptied and the lunch room and offices will be relocated to nearby leased space,” a staff report to Coldstream council stated.
A referendum to borrow up to $8.5 million over 30 years to construct the new public works buildings and renovate the former firehall, passed by a margin of 1,198 to 880 (57.7 per cent in favour) in the Oct. 15, 2022 election.
