Vipers’ newcomer earns league honour

Nov 7, 2023 | 3:00 PM

One of the newest Vernon Vipers has made an impact in his short time with the team.

Nick Mikan has been named the BC Hockey League’s third star of the week after collecting four goals in two games last week, including his first BCHL hat trick.

Mikan, a 19-year old forward from Edina, Minn., joined the Vipers on Oct. 27.

His three-goal performance came in a Nov. 1 game against the Cranbrook Bucks.

Mikan, who is committed to the University of St. Thomas, has four points in four games as a Viper.

Penticton Vees forward Callum Arnott (3G-3A in 2 games) was the first star and Alberni Valley Bulldogs defenceman Jax Wismer (6 points in 3 games) was the second star.

The 11-4 Vipers are back in action Friday when they host the Merritt Centennials.
