BC United finalizes candidates for Kelowna-Lake Country-Coldstream riding

Four people will seek the BC United nomination in the newly-named Kelowna-Lake Country-Coldstream provincial riding.

“BC United is pleased to share four individuals have put their names forward and been approved to contest the nomination to become the next BC United candidate in Kelowna-Lake Country-Coldstream: Binny Boparai, Bal Grewal, Pavneet Singh and Amanda Shatzko,” an email to Vernon Matters from the party stated.

A nomination meeting to choose the candidate will be held Nov. 25. The party did not say where that will be held.

The riding is made up of parts of two current electoral districts: Vernon-Monashee and Kelowna-Lake Country.

Norm Letnick of BC United (formerly BC Liberals) has been the riding’s MLA since 2009, but is retiring from provincial politics.

Meanwhile, BC United does not have any update on candidates in the Shuswap riding which is currently held by Sicamous resident Greg Kyllo of BC United, who has announced he will not seek a fourth term.

The next B.C. election is scheduled for Oct. 19, 2024.
